The papers within this Accession No. show that originally the property was part of the estate of Sir William Codrington who devised in his Will of 1789 to the use of Sir Christopher Bethell Codrington as 1st tenant for life - with it being lawful that trustees Charles Christopher Pepys and William Dowdeswell [or the survivor] could,at the request of 1st tenant,sell any part of the hereditaments etc.

In 1864 – Thomas Weaver died and Benjamin Thomas Moore as his executor required payment of the mortgage to settle affairs so arranged to transfer the mortgage to Eliza Annie Moore.
In 1870 - Eliza Annie Moore transferred Mortgage to Charles Dowswell
In 1889 – Charles Dowswell conveys property to James Maysey, umbrella manufacturer
In 1897 – James Maysey sells to Mrs Harriett Franklin
At some stage Mr William Gale acquired the property and in a letter dated 1983 [see small envelope [no. 16] in documents with 43-44 High Street] he sells the property for £61000. {This property in 2018 is Chrysal Rivers}
