Woodard Database

This database was inspired by the late Bob Woodard who was our first honorary member. He was following his own lines of research into his home area of 'Gravel Walk' and, to assist this process, he started to record census data on computer. At present, we have about 85,000 records in this database and it is being continually updated. Available to THS Members through Google Drive.

Burials and Graves

Trying to find the grave of someone from Tewkesbury?
This is a complete database of all burials and graves in the town.

Gloucestershire Dendrochronology Project

The project is to focus on three of the largest clusters of buildings with exposed timber-framing in Gloucestershire. At least 36 medieval buildings in Gloucester, Tewkesbury and Newent are to be carefully selected, recorded and accurately tree-ring dated. This will provide a summary of how timber-framing developed in Gloucestershire and how key visual features may generally be used in dating such buildings. Particular preference will be given to buildings that are both prominent and publicly accessible and so their dating will provide a permanent resource legacy to help in recognising and understanding timber-framed buildings. Where exciting examples of timber-framing are hidden behind later fa├žades 360 video records will be taken to enable such examples to be more widely known and generally accessible.
