Indenture dated 28th January 1783 - 23rd year of George III between:-

  1. James Kedwards of Tewkesbury butcher (only son and heir of Nutt Kedwards late of same place butcher by Anne his wife both deceased) and Jane the wife of said James Kedwards
  2. Thomas Pensam of Forthampton -

for £370 paid by Thomas Pensam to said James Kedwards he and wife Jane have released to Thomas Pensam:-

ALL THAT MESSUAGE or Tenement and Malthouse with appurtenances and One Garden thereto belonging situate and lying in Tewkesbury in High Street – thereto for in possession of John Clifton the younger and Henry Welsh (otherwise Welch) deceased and late of Samuel Welsh – since of said Nutt Kedwards but now of James Kedwards –

having:-

Messuage or Tenement now or late of Richard Symonds on North

Messuage or Tenement late of Widow Clifton but now of Charles Wareing on South – extending from said street to Oldbury

Fine to be levied by James Kedwards and Wife to Thomas Pensam for Thomas Pensam to have and occupy freely and clearly from any claim or trust of James Kedwards or his father Nutt Kedwards deceased – OTHER THAN – a certain Indenture dated 21st December 1760 and fine levied in consequence whereby said premises were conveyed to Nutt Kedwards and his wife Ann unto Mary Attwood spinster therein afterwards described as Mary Jones widow for term of 500 years by way of mortgage for securing payment of £195 and interest – remainder of which term is now become legally vested in Sarah Lye spinster and executrix of last Will and Testament of late Mary Jones -

and the Principal money and Interest remaining due being paid off and discharged at time of execution of these presents – The said mortgage is intended to be by Indenture quadruptite dated even date herewith assigned by Sarah lye unto Hopewell Hayward IN TRUST for said Thomas Pensam and his heirs to attend and wait upon the freehold and inheritance of said premises
