Indenture of Lease dated 26th January 1708 between:-

  1. Samuel Cooper of Charlton Kings gent; William Sloper of Cheltenham gent; Thomas Durnford of Tewkesbury glass grinder and Anne his wife; and William Ridler of Chalford Stroud clothier and Mary his wife.
  2. Thomas Kings of Tewkesbury maltster and Ralph Jones of Tewkesbury innholder

Witness that [parties of 1st part] for 5 shillings hath granted to Thomas Kings and Ralph Jones –

ALL THOSE MESSUAGES situate in Tewkesbury in or near a certain street called the Key Lane now or late in the several tenures of said William Porter; Nicholas Fletcher; Thomas Durnford; Ralph Jones; William Haines; and Nicholas Harrison AND ONE PARCEL OF MEADOW esteemed one acre in Severn Ham and known as UPPER ACRE or OVER ACRE

AND ALL THOSE OTHER MESSUAGES in Tewkesbury in or near to High Street and Key Lane now or late in the tenures of:- William Mann; Thomas Edwards; John Bassett; Patronella Fisher widow; Thomas Estopp and William Keys – or in the tenure of Thomas Durnford and Anne his wife and William Ridler and Mary his wife or their tenants or undertenants. AND ALL THAT PARCEL OF MEADOW esteemed one acre in Severn Ham called Winmill Acre

To intents and purposes of transferring uses into possession

ALL THOSE MESSUAGES in a certain lane called the Key Lane in occupation of William Parker; Nicholas Fletcher; said Thomas Durnford; Ralph Jones; William Haines; and Nicholas Harrison – AND ONE PARCEL OF MEADOW called or esteemed an acre in Severn Ham and called Upper Acre also Over acre

AND ALL THOSE OTHER MESSUAGES situate in or near the High Street and Key Lane – late in tenure of William Man; Thomas Edwards; John Bassett; Patronella Fisher widow; Thomas Estopp; and William Keys – AND ALL THAT MEADOW (an acre) in Severn Ham called Winmill Acre
