(14) Will of Ann Screen – 12th March 1825 (proved 1828)

This is the last Will and Testament of Ann Screen of Tewkesbury widow First it is my Will that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses shall be fully paid and satisfied by my executor hereinafter named from and out of my personal estate

I give and devise All that my Freehold Messuage or Dwelling House with the Brewhouse Court and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate and being in the Barton Street Tewkesbury aforesaid and now in my own occupation unto my nephew William Causon of Tewkesbury victualler -  his heirs and assigns forever

I give and devise All that my Freehold Tenement or Dwelling House with its appurtenances situate and being in a certain alley called Scotts Alley in the High Street Tewkesbury and now in the occupation of Thomas Elton waterman AND All that my Freehold Tenement or Dwelling House situate and being in a certain alley called Fletchers Alley in the Church Street [sic] in Tewkesbury and now in the occupation of William Lane unto my niece Martha Francis wife of John Francis of Tewkesbury stocking frame work knitter for and during the term of her natural life - she keeping the said tenements or dwelling houses in reasonable and tenantable repair

And from and immediately after her decease then I give and devise the same tenements or dwelling houses to her daughter and my Great Niece Mary Jones of Tewkesbury, widow for and during the term of her natural life - she keeping the said tenements or dwelling houses in reasonable and tenantable repair

And from and immediately after the decease of her the said Mary Jones then I give and devise the said tenements or dwelling houses with their appurtenances unto my Great Nephews and Great Niece - George Francis; William Francis and Martha Francis - sons and daughter of my niece the said Martha Francis and their heirs and assigns forever - equally divided between them share and share alike as tenants in common and not as joint tenants

I give and bequeath all and singular my household goods and furniture, linen and wearing apparel, ready money, securities for money and personal estate of whatever kind soever (subject and chargeable nevertheless to and with the payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses as aforesaid) unto and amongst all and every child and children of my brothers John Chandler late of Tewkesbury stocking frame work knitter deceased;  Kenhelm Chandler late of the City of Bristol pump and block maker deceased; Matthew Chandler late of Overbury Worcester paper maker deceased; and of my sisters Mary wife of George Privett late of Tewkesbury hairdresser deceased; Sarah wife of William Tanner late of Tewkesbury millwright deceased and Martha wife of Edward Causon late of Tewkesbury victualler deceased - equally to be shared among them share and share alike

And lastly I constitute and appoint said William Causon of Tewkesbury victualler sole executor - in witness whereof I Ann Screen have to this Will set my hand and seal 12th March 1825
