This Indenture made 11th September 1879 between
- Richard Collins of Tewkesbury mason and bricklayer
- Francis Jelleyman of same place butcher
Whereas said Richard Collins is seized or has an absolute power of appointment of an estate of inheritance in fee simple in possession free from incumbrances in a Messuage or tenement hereditaments and premises hereinafter described and expressed and intended to be hereby granted and conveyed
And Whereas said hereditaments and premises were on 8th July last put up for sale by Public Auction at the Kings Head Inn Tewkesbury when the said Francis Jelleyman being the highest bidder was declared the purchaser for £200
Now this Indenture Witnesseth that for effectuating the said sale and in consideration of £200 to said Richard Collins paid by said Francis Jelleyman (receipt acknowledged) and from the same doth release said Francis Jelleyman his heirs and assigns, he the said Richard Collins doth direct limit and appoint and also grant and convey unto said Francis Jelleyman
ALL THAT MESSUAGE or TENEMENT or INN known as the NEW INN with the Court Yard and appurtenances thereto belonging situate and being no. 28 High Street n the west side of the said street and having
A Messuage and premises formerly the property of Joseph Smith afterwards of George Hayward and now of Thomas Raynsford on the North Side
And a Messuage or premises formerly of Alfred Robert Tustin but now of Mary Frost on the South Side
And which said Messuage or Tenement hereditaments and premises hereby intended to be assured were formerly in the occupation of Thomas Harris, afterwards of George Smith then of Samuel Hodges since of Richard Collins and now of Henry James Pedley as tenant thereof – together with all buildings yards gardens etc etc which are usually held and occupied theretwith
And all estate right and title of the said Richard Collins in to and upon the premises
To have and to hold the hereditaments and premises hereinbefore described to the use of the said Francis Jelleyman and his assigns forever
Covenant by Richard Collins hath good right and title and power to sell
Covenant by Richard Collins that he has done nothing to incumber
